C1H: Thoydy Ali (Oxford Brookes Show, 2010)

I would feel uncomfortable making to many assumptions.

With the Art Work, there is a reckoning of material, style of the monolith, the transmutation of material to another effect, the terrific transformation of substance over the meagre, the fruitless who struggle so literally with paint.

What I sense is, a metamorphosis of intent, the change of skills to the higher medium. The reality is to change the myth, the rectangle of the frame to be replaced by the reference to a futuristic material. The mind over matter arguement is just as much a question as it is an answer. The mentoring of space, the heralding of a mass, insubstantial in reverse, the feelings of density to mystical emotion that is the Kabaal.

I am not the one to talk of experience in this matter, I have not been on this type of pilgrimage, the moving over of material used to denote colour, shape and form to be replaced by a different language of material made of by the Artist.

There is no arguement, the little space for misunderstanding, there is a colossus here to comprehend if we could as humans. Our emotions to the piece is consistent with our natures, religious or otherwise. Profound, provocative to mass, the feeling to meaning, the prayer of through thought to us and the planet.

Would the artist stand up, or sit. Is it something to sense. Is reason or the way forward to be here.

I would need to council for message, but what I do understand is the transmutation of the materials of the artist's form to confer form.

Extremely courageous. Hopefully I may understand clearly what I have written in the morning, as in need of rest. But please compute the real nature of your work to matter.
