I work with a bold palette and a fluid style and,
striving to express my emotional response to the
land, sea and sky, I paint colourful energetic
pictures.
My paintings are expressionistic in tone
and inspired by the power and spirit of nature.
In many of my paintings I use a knife with oils or
acrylics and develop a thick impasto, working in
layers and ridges of transparent and opaque colour.
Perspective and depth is developed in a semi
abstract way using the countryside with its
changing seasons as a constant reference. The sea,
huge East Anglian skies and our diverse landscapes
fascinate me.
Its the same inspiration that drives
my art photography, with digital technology
blurring the boundaries between painting and
photography I produce both pure photography and
my own style of arted up images.
I studied at Ipswich School of Art from 1977 to
1981, And here are just a few of my recent
exhibitions
